Download guide

How to download movies legally

Save movies and episodes for flights and commutes using the official apps. It is safer than any download button on an FMovies clone, and the quality is better.

Why "download" here means the official app. Downloads from FMovies-style sites are the most common way people end up with adware. Every major streaming service now lets you save movies and episodes for offline viewing, legally and in full HD, inside its own app.

How offline downloads work

  1. Install the official app for the service on your phone, tablet or laptop.
  2. Sign in and open the movie or episode you want.
  3. Tap the download icon (an arrow pointing down). Choose the video quality if asked.
  4. Find it later under Downloads or My Stuff, and play it without an internet connection.

Downloads expire after a set time, and each service limits how many titles or devices can hold downloads at once. Those limits are part of the license and vary by service and plan.
