About Resident Evil
Zach Cregger, the writer-director of Barbarian and Weapons, takes a new swing at Capcom's survival-horror series. This version stays close to the games' dread and isolation: a late-night delivery to Raccoon City pulls an ordinary man into the first hours of an outbreak, with the city's monsters closing in.
Is it worth watching?
Cregger is one of the most inventive horror filmmakers working right now, and this is a full reboot rather than a sequel to the earlier film series. You do not need to know the games or the old movies to follow it.
